Maine is host to more than 60 unique lighthouses along its coast and is known as the "lighthouse state". Once these guiding lights of the seacoats warned ships of iminent danger and directed them back to shore. These structures still dot the coastline of Maine and there are 6 that are in and around Portland within a 20 minute loop from the hotel.
